Sunday skin routine

Sundays are for getting ready for the new week! I don’t know about you but after a crazy Saturday of running around cleaning the house and doing laundry, Sundays are my day!

Church in the morning, afternoon brunch with my two favorite people and then I keep the evenings to myself for some much needed skin TLC!

Skincare is super important in my everyday routine. So NO, I don’t wait ‘till Sunday to throw some moisturizer on my face LOL. I cleanse, tone, treat and moisturize every day. Sundays are for masks, peels, and extra, extra Love!

I take a little extra time. Time I don’t typically have Monday thru Saturday.

Its important to educate yourself regarding your Skin type and to understand that our skin is constantly changing. Skin changes due to age, hormones, stress, weather, foods, ect…

Before treating my skin with peels or masks, I first take a good look at my skin and I analyze it.

  • What does my skin need today?
  • Is my skin dryer than normal?
  • Is my skin congested?
  • Is my skin red or inflamed due to acne?

Maybe it’s simply dull and needs a pick me up. Whatever it is that your skin needs, it will tell you, just take a good look in the mirror and let your skin speak to you.

Depending on what my skin has shown me, I pull product from my major skin care collection that I have in my bathroom.

Here are a few of my favorite treatment products I grab:

Elemis Papaya Enzyme peel:

When my skin is a little dull and needs a pick me up this is my go to mask! I put a nice even layer all over my skin. I let it sit for about 20 minutes. I love it because it feels super light and it’s a noninvasive exfoliating peel. The Elemis Papaya Enzyme peel will remove all the dead skin leaving your skin Brighter! I like to do this peel once a week; on Sundays of course.

Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask:

Is your skin looking and feeling inflamed and/or congested? Maybe you see just a few black heads here and there? Well let me tell you, this mask is the solution. A combination of rosemary, thyme and lavender will sooth and purify all skin types. But it’s especially wonderful for blemish prone skin. Apply a thin layer around face, let sit for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse with cool water. Finish with your favorite moisturizer. This wonderful mask can be done morning or evening.

Now when my skin is super congested and theres no make up in the world that will make it look good I pull out the big guns hahaha

Aesthetic Science Fruit Acid Gel 7.5%:

This is the holly grail. I suggest doing this peel only at Night. And making sure to use plenty of sunscreen in the morning. I apply this peel with a thin piece of gauze. I like to use gauze because it’s a little rough which helps with the exfoliating process. Rub the peel lightly all over the face and allow it to sit for about 15 minutes. Rinse with cool water. Then finish with a nice layer of your favorite night moisturizer. If you feel your skin needs more moisture, apply another layer. Remember you skin will speak to you by quickly absorbing the moisturizer or it will sit on top of the skin for several minutes as it slowly penetrates under the dermis.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Hydro Gel Eye Masks:

The best for those dry and puffy under eyes. I like to place one set of eye masks in the fridge for about 20 minutes before applying them on. The cold hydro gel eye masks will help with blood flow around the eyes as is also helps with any puffiness by shocking the skin. I like to apply my eye masks together with whatever other face mask I’m doing.

Elemis Cellutox Body Oil:

This body oil is amazing for every day. It’s designed to eliminate toxins in the body by using a combination of powerful essential oil extracts; like sea buckthorn, sea fennel, lemon and juniper. It will also help fight cellulite. I like to use this oil on my stomach because it really helps with digestion. But don’t be afraid to lather yourself up in this full body detox oil.

Like I mentioned in the beginning of this blog, it is super important to become educated with your own skin. Once you have allowed your skin to speak to you, yes, I said speak to you, by looking at it and analyzing it in the mirror, you can start to treat your skin depending on what the current condition it is in.

I tend to switch off between all the different masks and peels I listed; always paying close attention to what my skin is telling me. One week I’ll do one or the other. Keep in mind that all these masks/peels can also be done together in the same day. Now, if you want to make your Sunday a full on spa day this is how you do it. After a nice hot shower, I would start by lathering the body with the Elemis Cellutox Body Oil. Apply the Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel on your face. Let sit and wipe completely off. Then you’ll grab the Aesthetic Science Fruit Acid Gel; make sure to follow the important steps I listed above. Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask is next but together with the Elemis Pro-Collagen Gel Eye Masks. And finish with your favorite moisturizer. Bam! Sunday Spa Day is a success.

So there you have it. My personal recommendations for the perfect Sunday each and every Sunday or for your very own Sunday Spa Day! Don’t let another Sunday pass you by without giving your skin a little extra TLC.
